Stress Maintenance Test

Start with with 0 and add the following points in the allocated box on the right to determine how well you manage stress in your life. Good luck!

1 Add 20 pts. if you are in a happy relationship
2 Add 20 pts. if you look forward to going to work at least 2 out of 3 days
3 Add 10 pts. if you (or you and your partner) are not troubled by bills
4 Add 10 pts. if you participate in some social activity at least twice a month
5 Add 10 pts. if you have a hobby that you engage in at least twice a month
6 Add 10 pts. if you if you engage in an activity that relaxes you at least 3 times a week
7 Add 10 pts. if you if you engage in an activity that is just for you 1 hour per week
8 Add 5 pts. for each day of the week that you engage in exercise for at least 30 minutes

9 Add 5 pts. for each day of the week that you eat at least one nutritionally balanced meal
10 Subtract 5 pts. for each day of the week that you feel you are hurried or rushed
11 Subtract 5 pts. for each day of the week you feel glum or depressed
12 Subtract 5 pts. for each 10 pounds you are under or over your ideal weight (maximum penalty - 20 pts.)
13 Subtract 5 pts. for each night of the week that you take a sleeping aid.
14 Subtract 5 pts. for each day during the week that you use medications, drugs, or alcohol to reduce your anxiety of help you relax.

Scoring

The Maximum is +160 and the Minimum is -160.

Under 60: You are vulnerable. Your support systems are weak, but keep up the good work.
60-90: Moderate resistance. Consider changes in areas where you lost points.
90+: You are fending off stress, not maintaining it. You need to re-examine your lifestyle and values.
